Guy Robson comments in Insurance Insider in relation to Zurich, AXA XL and other insurers agreeing to pay in D&O claims over VW ‘Dieselgate’ scandal

Partner Guy Robson comments in Insurance Insider in relation to Zurich, AXA XL and other insurers agreeing to pay in D&O claims over VW ‘Dieselgate’ scandal.

“Despite Volkswagen’s receiving this milestone payout from its insurers and settling Dieselgate cases for Volkswagen consumers in other jurisdictions, the lack of resolution in the UK is disappointing for consumers.

“It is nearly six years since Dieselgate broke, and yet the Volkswagen ‘NOx’ trial will not take place until 2023. This is despite the High Court throwing out Volkswagen’s appeal in April 2020 against a ruling the VW Group had fitted defeat devices in their VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda diesel vehicles.”

Guy’s comments were published in Insurance Insider, 10 June 2021, and can be found here.
